about cassava

This tuber, which on the outside looks like a trunk, comes from a bush and has a high content of complete carbohydrates, a property that makes it a very energetic food.

Due to its nutritional values, its texture and its flavor, it is often compared with potatoes and sweet potatoes, and can even be substituted for one another in multiple recipes.

Cassava and Arthritis

According to some studies, cassava contains a component, saponin, which is able to improve the condition of joints that are affected by arthritis,  as it limits or slows down its deterioration.

Another great advantage of cassava is that it avoids the side effects that conventional medication has on the digestive system.

By consuming cassava daily, you can reduce the pain, swelling, and stiffness  caused by this disease.

Who else can consume?

Cassava is a very popular food in many countries where it is easily grown. In addition, its price is much cheaper than other foods, so it is essential in the diet.

In addition, it stands out for its energetic power, which makes it the ideal option for children, teenagers, athletes and people who are exposed to important efforts.

It also has the advantage of being easy to digest and is even beneficial for those suffering from digestive disorders such as gastritis, acidity, ulcers or colitis.

How to consume it?

You can consume cassava as a supplement or also as a food:

  • As a supplement: you  should eat it for three months, take a rest for another three, and then repeat the treatment again. You can also eat it during acute flare-ups.
  • If you choose to consume it as food, you can cook it the same way you would cook potatoes : in an omelet, braised, in the oven, etc. You can also fry, but even though it’s a delicious dish, it won’t be as beneficial to your health.

It is important to note that cassava is not only gluten free, but is also part of many recipes for celiacs.

With manioc flour and starch, you can make breads and cakes, whose texture and flavor are delicious and match those made with other flours.
